Maggie Kirkpatrick created one of Australia’s most memorable drama characters in Australian television history at the same time achieving the position of being one of our most admired and respected theatrical leading ladies. Maggie’s career spans over 35 years in theatre, television and film. Her professional career began in 1961 with John Alden’s Shakespeare Company, for the Perth Theatre Company

She has worked extensively with all the theatre companies in Australia including "The Beauty Queen of Leenane", "The Cripple of Inishmaan", "A Delicate Balance", and "The Ham Funeral" for STC, "Emerald City" for MTC, "Shoehorn Sonata" for The Ensemble, and "Farewell Brisbane Ladies" and "The One Day Of The Year" for the State Theatre Of South Australia.

Amongst her television credits are All Saints, Blue Heelers, Water Rats, GP, The Ferrals, Hey Dad, The Miraculous Mellops, Dearest Enemy, Home and Away, Betty’s Bunch, Richmond Hill and of course, Joan Ferguson (The Freak) in Prisoner. Her feature films credits include "Welcome To Woop Woop", "Lillian’s Story", "Billys’Holiday", and "Encounters", "The Pirate Movie", "The Night Of The Prowler", "The Getting Of Wisdom" and the SBS produced Feature "With Mother". A highlight of Maggie’s’ career was the departure into cabaret with her acclaimed one-woman show "The Screw Is Loose", at the Tilbury Hotel and more recently ‘Maggie Kirkpatrick …Still Here’ at Kabarett Voltaire
